Yesterday, the Confederation of African Football, CAF released the nominees for the 2023 CAF Awards. The different categories released by the continent’s football governing body saw lots of stars that performed well in the football season between 2022 and 2023.
Among them is Nigeria’s talisman and Napoli star boy, Victor Osimhen. He is the only Nigerian listed in the nominations for the most talked about award “CAF Men’s Player of the Year.”
Osimhen is listed as the 8th best player in the world at the moment after finishing 8th in the Ballon D’or awards some days ago. The 2022/23 Serie A highest goal scorer will however compete with lots of Moroccan players who starred at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

But looking at events from last season, Victor Osimhen should be the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the year. If he wins the award, he will become the first Nigerian to do so in 24 years.
