It is Super Eagles match day. Nigeria begin their 2026 World Cup journey against Lesotho in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
Last time in World Cup qualifying series, the Super Eagles lost their place to Ghana in the play-offs. This time, it is left for them to top the group and qualify for the World Cup automatically.

Head coach, Jose Peseiro has said that “it is a must to qualify for the 20226 World Cup.” The gaffer has comfortably qualified for the 2023 AFCON and will be hoping to do same for the 2026 World Cup against countries like South Africa, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Benin Republic and Lesotho.
kenneth Omeruo also indicated that the team is still “hurt from missing the Qatar 2022 World Cup.”
Now, they have a a new chance to write a new their history as they face Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state today by 5pm.
