Ahead of this Thursday’s Group A game between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and hosts Cote D’Ivoire, the Ivorian government under the leadership of President Alassane Ouatarra has declared a work free day in the West African Nation.
Ojodutimes gathered that workers were charged by the government to be at the Alassan Ouatarra stadium, Ebimbe, also known as the Ivorian Olympic stadium, situated in the Northern part of the country’s capital, Abidjan.
It’s one of the measures the host country is putting in place in ensuring that the two time African Champions get the better of the Super Eagles who have won the Continental showpiece three times.
Meanwhile Nigeria’s head coach, Jose Peseiro has called for calm across the Nigerian football industry and assured that his Boys are in shape to silence their opponents in front of their fans.
Peseiro at the Pre Match Press conference said he’s confident that his players will come out victorious, although he warned them to be clinical in front of goal as that could be their only shortcoming.
In the same vein, assistant captain William Troost Ekong made it known that this Thursday’s outing will be better the their opener against Equatorial Guinea.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 5pm Ivorian time, 6pm in Nigeria.
